HAPPY 2010!

Welcome to the EMMAUS youth group
At the end of 2009, we gave ourselves a name (EMMAUS) and vowed to find ways in which we would intentionally bring compassion into the world through our actions, starting in our own families.

I truly believe that in order to learn about our faith, we need to try and DO what our faith suggests...

This year, a great starting place for our missions are the acts of mercy as suggested in the gospel of Mathew 25:35-36 (feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, welcome the stranger, clothe the naked, care for the sick, visit those in prison.)

LORD, WHEN WAS IT THAT WE SAW YOU NAKED AND CLOTHED YOU?
We have made tremendous progress on our first ministry project this year: sewing pillowcase dresses for needy girls in Uganda as part of Hope4Kids International's goal to ensure that every girl has a least one dress of their own. Thank you Christ Church! Your donations of  pillowcases, trim, and elastic has helped make this possible.

We will have our final "sewing bee" in late April.
