"Then the righteous will answer, 'Lord, when
was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you
something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed
you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick
or in prison and visited you?'... 'truly I tell you, just as you did it

Education and Advocacy
Relief and Food Security
Nationally, the Anglican Church of Canada took a major step towards equal
marriage last summer at their General Synod. While several Dioceses are
leading the way by going ahead and welcoming individuals to marry who
they love and choose regardless of gender, The Diocese of Calgary has
not yet taken this step and so we are prevented. But Christ Church Elbow
Park has agreed it is time to go ahead, continues to be an advocate for
equal rights in the church and encourages the church to to allow and welcome
all to the sacraments. We are asked to be patient, and realize
that the church is under construction, too, just like this website. Meanwhile,
we believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and note that Jesus is silent
on homosexuality in all the Gospels, but has plenty to say about covenant
love for all. We agree with The Supreme Court of Canada, and respect,
value and pray for the church in this time of discernment and change,
including those who disagree with us.
Care to Seniors'
Residences and Nursing Homes
Christ Church makes visits or leads worship for all denominations
in several area seniors' residences or nursing homes, providing prayer
and sacramental care to those unable to attend worship in their home congregations.
